Membership
 

Membership is open to any individuals or groups committed to the development and promotion of conservation farming/tillage technologies for smallholder farmers in Africa. Application for membership shall be addressed to the Network Secretariat and include contact addresses (also e-mail address), name/s of African countries in which applicant works/worked or have interest in; aspects of conservation farming/tillage specialized/ interested in; and any other relevant information. All or part of this information, unless specifically requested to the contrary, may be used by ACT for referral of queries, postings on the ACT website, etc…

Membership to ACT is in the following categories:

Individual membership

Is open to individuals with current involvement in conservation farming/tillage in Africa. They should have more than just interest in conservation tillage in Africa; i.e. should be directly or indirectly working on Africa’s conservation farming/tillage concerns. Individual membership is free. However, it is expected that members contribute to the network by providing information and participating in work groups.

Institutional membership

Governmental and non-governmental organisations as well as private sector organisations may apply for institutional membership. The annual membership fee is 50 US$. Additional voluntary contributions to the running of the network will be appreciated.

  Associate membership

Individuals interested in conservation tillage but not engaged in Africa may apply for associate membership. Associate members will pay an annual membership fee of 10 US$.

Applications for membership: Applications shall be addressed to the network secretariat.

Membership benefits and obligations

Benefits to members include:

  • ACT avails members access to various information and data on conservation tillage in Africa,
  • ACT provides members fora to share experience and interact with fellow professional and farmers on issues of conservation tillage
  • ACT facilitates contacts with specialists who can provide technical CT advice

Members will be encouraged to:

  • Share/provide information on activities and programmes on CT in their areas/countries for Network’s databases
  • share experiences on conservation tillage, e.g. by contributing articles to the ACT Newsletter,
  • participate in the ACT work groups and other CT development and promotion activities
