Congress Character and Process
Congress Theme: "Linking Production, Livelihoods and Conservation"
The Organising Committee hopes to realise a Congress that will, both in content and process:
  1. Be attractive and worth-the-while not just to CA “faithfuls”, but other players and interest groups/organisations that may be important for CA development and promotion/adoption.
  2. Be interactive, allowing more active participation and discussions, e.g. thematic working groups, open space (videos, theatre, demonstrations and or training materials).
  3. Have significant and active representation of farmers and policy/decision makers from across all the continents.
  4. Bring out new knowledge on CA and agriculture, in general ; i.e. the outputs of the congress are expected to be more than just proceedings, but knowledge that can be used.
  5. More than just a celebration of CA, show case proven and sustainable adoption of CA, its effects on soil quality and impact on peoples’ livelihoods.

The followings elements will characterise the Congress process :

  • Plenary Sessions
  • Case Studies & special working groups
  • Field Visits
